It was great to see this family again. I hadn’t seen the baby since she was just a couple months old. It was a hot evening, but we ran inside a couple times to cool off before anyone got too sweaty.
This is my favorite red headed family! I’ve know mom for yeeeears…… like 20+. Her family is just gorgeous. She has the best kids, too. This session was so very hot. You’ll notice dad wore 2 different shirts. They were troopers! I just love how vibrant these turned out. Can’t wait to see them on your walls, Liz!

You may recognize these kids from a post a few months ago about my friends who adopted three children (siblings) in a very whirlwind fashion. If not, you can read it here. A couple weeks ago their adoption was finalized and they are forever a family!
Last weekend while visiting them I was able to do a secret session with the kids. My husband was with Cory (their daddy) and I knew Vanessa (their mommy) had somewhere to be in the afternoon. I mentioned the idea to Mimi (Vanessa’s mom) and she was on board. I went through the kids’ closets and threw something together and off we went. My main goal was to get a picture of the 3 of them in the same frame. Not easy, but mission accomplished! Mimi wanted some pictures of Brooklyn playing with her mommy’s baby doll and crib and they couldn’t have turned out any more precious.
Congratulations, Cory and Vanessa! We are so proud of you. I know this journey will be fun, crazy, amazing, difficult, and beautiful. It will be the hardest yet most rewarding thing you’ll ever do. We’re here to walk next to you in it and through it. Enjoy these pictures of your babies. They are beautiful and they are now yours….the babies and the pictures.

So glad our vacation schedules lined up so I could photograph these two girls. They live way up in Indiana! Their mom is just the sweetest! I’m not gonna lie, this session was tough. A 6 month old that isn’t quite sitting plus an almost 3 year old with a mind of her own…. that combo is a tough one! I think we managed to get some good photos and mom is happy. We’ll try again next summer when I will likely have two running in different directions!
First of all, what a cute name! So happy I was able to squeeze her in before I went on vacation. She was over 2 weeks ago, but still only 6 pounds. She was a great sleeper until the very end. Her mom is an art teacher with a love of all things vintage and her dad a musician so I tried my best incorporate as much of that as I could. All the lace belonged to her grandma!
