Ethan | Lake Nona Florida Newborn Photographer

I first met Ethan the minute he was born.  His momma originally booked me for a birth session.  Check out the blog of his birth here. That turned into a newborn session where I got to meet his big brother.  Ethan is probably the best baby I’ve ever had in the studio.  He was like a wet noodle the entire time and I never saw his eyes.  He was a doll and I had so much fun with him!

Archer’s Birth Story | Orlando Florida Birth Photographer

I met Adrianna at a photography workshop.  Who knew I’d be photographing her home birth three years later?!  I had just finished up with a hospital birth in Orlando and I knew that she had been laboring all day.  I left the hospital knowing I had an hour drive and headed her way.  I arrived at 9pm.  Adrianna was AMAZING.  After 26 hours of labor she gave birth around 3am.  It was an amazing experience for me.  This was my first home birth.  Normally I’m in a hospital positioned up by mom’s head just waiting for the baby to come out.  My husband has always said that I need to see a baby born (like he did with our kids) and I finally got to do that.  Her little guy was so wide eyed and alert as you’ll see in that very last image.

Ethan’s Birth Story | Orlando Birth Photographer

Amanda wanted a birth photographer because her first birth experience was such a whirlwind and the result was that she didn’t end up with many pictures of her first son on his first day of life.  She was going to make sure that didn’t happen again.  The day Ethan was born ended up being a crazy day for me.  I had two birth sessions on the books with due dates only 7 days apart (for the record, I don’t normally roll the dice like this).  I woke up to a text from the other mom (who was several days overdue) saying she was having pre-labor signs.  Then I get a text from Amanda saying that she went to her appointment and her water is leaking so they agreed to induce her.  Oh boy, two babies in one day potentially.  Later in the afternoon I get word that the other mom is definitely in labor, but since she’s doing a natural home birth it could be a while.  I headed up to the hospital for Amanda and get there a little after 5pm.  Amanda progessed very quickly and Ethan was born at 6:45pm.  Another healthy baby boy who looks just like his daddy.  I left the hospital at 8pm to make the one hour drive to the other mom….. stay tuned for the rest of the story.
